Summer Part II

I can't believe how quickly the summer went by. It's been awhile since I last wrote, and it is already the 6th of September. We had a great summer, especially on our second vacation week.
The last week of July, we rented a cottage just north of Kingston on Collins Lake. It was incredibly peaceful and a beautiful, relaxing spot. We spent our days relaxing on the deck, reading, swimming and boating. The cottage owners thought of every last detail making our stay very comfortable. We were also very lucky to have probably the best week of weather of the entire summer. Here are some photos of the cottage:

We also spent a few days exploring the 1,000 Islands are and Kingston. Brayden and I had never been to this part of the province before and we loved it. We drove to Rockport one day where we had lunch on a great patio, and then took a 1,000 Islands cruise that went around Boldt Castle. Kingston is a very beautiful historic city with lots to see and do. We really enjoyed walking around, visiting pubs, taking in museums (Penitentiary Museum and Pump House Steam Museum) and checking out the farmer's market. We also went to Fort Henry one evening to see the famous 'Sunset Ceremonies' complete with cannons, marching bands, etc.

Had to take a photo of 'Bubba's' Pizza and Fish for Jason, since that's his nickname!

We are already looking forward to next summer and will likely rent the same cottage again!

On August 18th we had the pleasure of attending John & Alicia's wedding - long time friends of Jason's. The wedding was perfect - it was in Alicia's parents' back yard, we had great weather, amazing food, and we danced all night. Here are a few photos from the occasion.
